What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Coordinator position at The Bedford Chamber of Commerce?
We are looking for someone passionate about helping the Bedford area business community. The Office Coordinator for Bedford Chamber of Commerce is responsible for the day-to-day administrative tasks of all Chamber business and related functions for the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council and the implementation of all policies and procedures, as delegated by the CEO.
Assures the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives of the Chamber are foremost in all Chamber business endeavors.
General
Maintains office services by organizing office operations; welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. Directs customers by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of community activities and resources. Ensures a positive office environment by working with staff to assist the business community.
Job Duties
- Administers the day-to-day front-of-house operations for the Chamber
- Provides administrative support to all Chamber committees, groups, and programs
- Assist board meeting preparation, communication, and minutes preparation for both the Chamber and Growth Council
- Maintains and schedules conference rooms
- Maintains and tracks office supplies and equipment
- Ensures office is clean and organized
- Greets all visitors promptly
- Answers the phone and routes the call to the proper staff member
- Assistance and tracking of communication with members
- Assistance with coordination of invoicing and billing for both the Growth Council and Bedford Chamber
- Maintains and tracks office calendars, etc.
- Maintains secure files
- Become a Notary Public and provide service to chamber members
- Work with staff to execute events, programs, and chamber activities
- Other tasks and work as assigned by the CEO
KNOWLEDGE AND CHARACTER TRAITS
The Office Coordinator will have the experience, general knowledge, and responsible character traits as a representative of the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council and Bedford Chamber of Commerce. The candidate is expected to have the following skills: Strong oral and written communication, strong customer service, detail orientated, scheduling, and ability to work as a team.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A minimum high school diploma (or equivalent) with experience in administrative roles is preferred.
Salary and Benefits
The position will pay $15- $16.50 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
Benefits include paid holiday, sick leave, and vacation. We are unable to offer insurance at this time.
