Job Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our behavioral health nursing team. This part-time position is ideal for a nurse looking for consistent weekend shifts, providing care to adults with psychiatric conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care in an inpatient behavioral health setting
Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness or adverse reactions
Accurately document patient care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Participate in crisis intervention and apply de-escalation strategies
Supervise and support Mental Health Workers during assigned shifts
Educate patients and families about treatment plans and medication
Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and behavioral health professionals
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety procedures
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
Active LPN license in Pennsylvania (Required)
Experience
At least 1 year of LPN experience preferred
Behavioral health, psychiatric, or substance use experience strongly preferred
Familiarity with trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment is a plus
Certifications
Current CPR certification (Required)
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) preferred
Skills & Abilities
Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to remain calm and responsive during behavioral health emergencies
