What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief of Staff position at The Bench?
We are looking for a true unicorn chief of staff who can provide support for roles (1) the founder of a political speakeasy called The Bench (2) a strategy & ops executive at a jewish nonprofit organization (3) a restaurant & hospitality consultant and across a variety of other projects.
The ideal candidate can seamlessly navigate from late-night hang with the downtown NYC creatives scene to high-level strategy meetings with Jewish organizational leaders the next morning. They’d be someone who will thrive in the dynamic mix of running point on hip restaurant openings while having a seat at the table with top artists, changemakers, and impact leaders, as well as Jewish initiatives dedicated to combatting antisemitism. The position requires a high degree of admin work, like scheduling meetings and note taking, and also encourages independent ideas and creative input for any given vertical.
This is a full time, in-person, NYC-based position.
Qualifications/Needs:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent communication, both written and verbal.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
- Experience in project management, hospitality, and/or nonprofit work is highly preferred.
- Passion for hospitality and impact/advocacy work.
- Ability to oversee daily operations and calendar of events for a new political speakeasy, The Bench, opening this winter.
- Helping coordinate with vendors to finalize design and construction for winter rollout
- Helping manage social media accounts for The Bench
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for partners, vendors, and team members involved in clients’ restaurant projects.
- Organize and manage events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale launches.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-energy environments with a mix of professional and social engagements.
