Opportunity Snapshot:
- Compensation: $49/hour, DOE
- Location: Carlsbad, NM
- Work Schedule: 4/3, 10 hours per day
- Assignment Duration: 12 months

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment
- Troubleshoot, install, configure, and test equipment/devices, as well as set up controllers, devices, and communication protocols with minimal assistance
- Install, program, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automation equipment
- Maintain and repair automation and electrical systems for upstream onshore oil and gas operations
- Provide on-site automation support and serve as a technical resource for control systems and field instrumentation (level, pressure, flow, vibration, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with industry and corporate process control standards
- Follow PLC programming practices, standards, and Management of Change (MOC) procedures
- Identify and implement improvements for instrumentation and control systems
- Utilize CMMS (SAP) for maintenance operations
Qualifications
2-year Instrumentation or Automation Technology degree (GPA 2.5 ) or equivalent technical experience with a strong safety record or a GED
5 years in the oil field
1 year of upstream oil and gas automation experience
Experience with Allen-Bradley and Rosemount systems
Ability to read and interpret Cause & Effects, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control narratives
Basic troubleshooting of control networks (ControlNet, Ethernet I/P, Network Switches, fiber optics, RF communications)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate across teams and build trust
Active listening and problem-solving mindset to drive performance and results
