Berkeley Carroll is a Pre-K through grade 12 college preparatory school of close to 1,000 students located in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn in New York City. The Berkeley Carroll Middle School seeks a permanent substitute teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Working closely with the middle school office manager, permanent substitute teachers work daily from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, covering classes when necessary, supporting bus arrival and dismissal, and assisting with other school duties of the day, including supervising students when they are not in class.

Responsibilities:
- Cover classes as needed
- Support with bus arrival and dismissal
- Support with other school duties of the day, including but not limited to supervising students when they are not in class
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience teaching middle school students preferred
- Flexibility and comfort in multiple content areas
- Ability to build relationships quickly with students and willingness to follow the classroom routines and guidelines of others
- Attention to the role of diversity and identity in a community, and a recognition of one’s own biases and how they may impact one’s perspectives and actions
