What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concierge/Front Desk position at The Berkman Hotel?
The Berkman is a mixed use high end residence and hotel property. We are looking for a Hotel Concierge/Front Desk Associate to serve as our hotel guests’ first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodation as well as provide assistance to residents of the building. Concierge responsibilities include registering guests, managing reservations and providing information about rooms, rates and amenities. Monitoring the amenities and pool decks answering questions, assist in coordinating travel accommodations, reservations for dinner and events and any other items needed for a quality guest/resident experience. If you have a knack for customer service and work experience in the hotel industry, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help create a welcoming and comfortable stay for our guests and living experience for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
- Manage online and phone reservations
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
- Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
- Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
- Provide information about our building, available rooms, rates and amenities
- Respond to guest complaints in a timely and professional manner and assist residents with questions related to the building and surrounding community.
- Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
- Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers both guests and residents.
- Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
- Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
Skills
- Work experience as a residential or hotel concierge, hotel front desk associate, receptionist or similar role
- Experience with hotel reservations and property management software and comfortable with a highly technology based property
- Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking.com, Expedia and TripAdvisor
- Exceptional customer service attitude
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Degree in hospitality management is a plus
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent phone skills
- Most importantly a desire to serve others
- Ability to life more than 30 lbs
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
