We are looking for an Inventory Controller to join our Smartpress team in Duncan, South Carolina. You’ll be part of a talented group that collaborates to deliver world-class products to our customers. You will ensure that all materials brought into Smartpress are correctly accounted for and that all materials used for jobs are removed correctly. You will develop inventory management systems, maintain stock levels, and coordinate the logistics of orders and transfers. This role will also analyze supply chain data and generate purchase and pricing reports.
Shifts available: Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you have:
- a High School diploma or GED
- 5 years experience in fulfillment or warehouse environment
- 2 years experience in lead or supervisor role
- 2 years experience using ERP or WMS (Warehouse Management System) software as it relates to Primary Responsibilities listed above
On top of that you must:
- have excellent communication skills with peers, purchasing department, internal and external customers and vendors
- be extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision
- have the ability to use data to resolve problems such as inventory shortages, vendor out of stock, and other related issues
- have the ability to use spreadsheets to compile data and present it in a manner that is understandable to people at all levels within the organization
- be able to perform basic mathematical calculations
- foster strong working relationships both inside and outside the company
- track trends within data sets to ensure we are taking a proactive approach to resolving issues
- have prior work experience with databases and spreadsheets or google sheets
- have strong computer skills
- have strong analytical, time management and problem solving skills
- pay excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
In this position, you will:
- submit the "heads-up" requests of materials from the Planning team.
- replenishment of material based on KANBAN cards from the Production floor
- remove errored material from the ERP system
- work with Purchasing and Planning on material requirements
- re-Order internal inventory as needed
- update Inventory Control Manager on critical issues that need escalation
- work with Receiving / Materials department on material needs
- work with Production team on ad-hoc material requests
- work with Planning on correct material allocation
- assist Receiving team with material movements
- participate in monthly physical inventory projects
- performs extensive research on a wide range of inventory related reports. Drafts inventory reports documenting inventory counts, discrepancies, and other statistical information.
- identifies recurrent issues; works with manager to identify root cause and develops action plans to correct.
- partners with others to resolve discrepancies between inventory and revenue.
- ensures awareness of large projects requiring inventory; ensures materials are available when needed, and facilities special orders as needed.
- audit entry accuracy weekly to ensure all materials are being captured and tied to a job
- in-bound material for job demand is processed correctly
- all inventory transactions for material usage are processed correctly. To include corrections made when errors are found
- effective communication of all task hand-off activities to internal customers
- convert material from one form factor to another form factor (Example: kits to components, boards to panels and rolls to boards)
- maintaining the accuracy of perpetual to physical counts
- application of industry best practices as it applies to storage and handling of material after received and prior to picking for shipment
- perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by others in management
