Who we are looking for.

As the Backroom Manager, we are looking for someone who can receive and distribute all incoming new products, while effectively managing the team and systems in place for maintaining proper stock levels, accurate inventory numbers, and efficient product rollouts. This person should have a strong understanding of retail trends, especially pertaining to the Buffalo market and our beloved sports teams. The Backroom Manager at The BFLO Store will be expected to grow, manage, and develop their team and responsibilities, while also being flexible to help in other departments at times. Some examples may include jumping in to help with online fulfillment, resetting displays in stores, reorganizing storage areas, assisting on the sales floor, helping with pop-ups or special events, and more! Since the position can be so fluid at times, this person should be detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills, and an ability to multi-task multiple projects with efficiency and follow through.

You will be leading a team of coordinators who have various back-of-house responsibilities, while also forecasting our needs and delegating responsibility daily and weekly. An eye for detail and accuracy is paramount for this position, as matching the product received with packing slips and invoices ensures correct billing and inventory amounts. The Backroom Manager will also be expected to train and motivate their team of employees to efficiently receive, process, distribute, and store products within a fun and positive work environment.

In general, candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Previous retail experience, specifically in a receiving and/or backroom position.
  • 3 years’ experience managing employees and delegating responsibilities.
  • Thorough understanding of general retail trends, seasons, and Buffalo culture.
  • Strong technology and organizational skills, a willingness to learn, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexible availability to balance weekly assignments & responsibilities with special events, extended holiday needs, and team requests.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand/walk for prolonged periods of time during shifts, and willingness to be forklift certified.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.50 – 40 per week
