Who we are looking for.
As the Building Maintenance Associate at The BFLO Store, you’re responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of all of our locations, to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment. This role involves working with various systems, building repairs, flooring, electrical, drywall, plumbing, as well as assisting with preventative maintenance and responding to maintenance requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of the retail store, including lighting, flooring, fixtures, bathrooms and general cleaning prior to open.
- Perform minor electrical repairs, such as replacing lightbulbs, outlets, and switches.
- Address plumbing issues, including leaky faucets, clogged drains, and toilet repairs.
- Repair and maintain store fixtures, shelving, doors, and flooring.
- Ensure the store’s exterior, including sidewalks, parking lots, and signage, is well-maintained.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from store staff and management.
- Assist with seasonal setup and breakdown, including holiday decorations and promotional displays.
- Follow safety regulations and ensure compliance with building codes and company policies.
- Monitor and manage maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
In general, candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, drywall, and carpentry work.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Good communication skills for interacting with store staff and management.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual labor.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a retail store environment, including sales floors, stockrooms, and exterior areas.
- May require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Work schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts for emergency repairs.
