We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal File Clerk to join our team. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining legal documents, ensuring compliance with established procedures, and supporting attorneys in the preparation and organization of files.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Management: Organize, file, and maintain legal documents, both electronic and physical, ensuring accurate retrieval and compliance with legal standards.
- Record Keeping: Maintain an organized filing system for case files, correspondence, and legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
- Assistance: Provide support to attorneys and paralegals by preparing files for hearings, trials, and meetings, including assembling necessary documentation.
- Scanning and Archiving: Digitize physical documents and archive outdated files in accordance with firm policies.
- Communication: Coordinate with internal teams and external parties to obtain necessary documents and ensure timely communication.
- Compliance: Ensure that all filing and documentation practices adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or paralegal certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a legal environment or administrative role is a plus.
