Food Truck Manager/Staff Position with A Des Moines Based Multi-Truck Business

Position Summary
The Food Truck Manager is responsible for managing food service operations on the food truck. The Food Truck Manager will ensure all employees follow business policies and procedures and meet all Health Department requirements. The role is full-time, typically working 30-40 hours per week from April through November depending on truck schedule.
What To Do:
Ensure customer experience is exceptional and invoice/bill clients at the end of catering gigs.
Oversee the day-to-day operations on food truck, including preparation, serving, and cleaning schedules.
Potentially will be asked to assist with event and/or staff scheduling.
Manage employees working on the food truck.
Maintain and ensure sanitation, health, and safety standards are met.
Ensure food safety standards are maintained during preparation, cooking, serving, storage, and cleaning practices.
Prepare and serve food, verifying the prepared foods meet requirements for quality and quantity.
Food ordering and pick-up at local suppliers and verifying the prepared foods meet requirements for quality and quantity.
Operate and maintain equipment such as ovens, fryers, and flattop grill.
Demonstrate competent, calm and confident leadership on the truck.

Leadership and coaching experience for employees of various experience levels.
Attention to detail, especially as it relates to food standards, cost, and safety measures. We assume that every customer is going to write a review and post it online with a picture and we want to maintain excellence in the details. Both of our trucks/businesses are “Top 5 Food Trucks In Des Moines” with strong reputations and we take a lot of pride and satisfaction in what we do.
The ideal candidate thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment and has excellent customer service skills. He or she is a problem solver, has excellent attention to detail and proactively takes the initiative to fill a need. A love for people and the ability to positively interact with customers and supervise staff is essential for this position. This position at times may require standing for prolonged periods in all types of weather conditions.
At some point (1 to 5 years??) we will be looking to sell out and the manager will have the first opportunity to step into an established business that they are already familiar and experienced with.
Our truck/trailers are all top of the line and virtually brand new. You will be working with excellent equipment and staff with owner support and interaction as needed.
Compensation/Benefits
· Management starts at $25 per hour plus a monthly bonus based on sales. (Staff would start at $15 per hour plus tips.)
· Paid travel time to and from an event/gig. (Staff would be paid one way)
· Work vehicle (if and when needed)
· Free food while clocked in and working on the truck.
· Somewhat flexible schedule where owners/other staff may be able to fill in if needed.
