Position Description :
The Biome is seeking a dynamic and thoughtful Kindergarten teacher, whose own love of learning inspires curiosity and engagement in students. The elementary teacher is responsible for creating an active learning environment in which students develop and refine their skills in mathematics, reading, writing, social studies, and science. Pairing the designated curriculum with lesson-planning autonomy, the Kindergarten teacher designs experiences that excite students and encourage them to actively explore, discover, and learn. Teachers within and across grade levels collaborate with one another to ensure that all Biome learners experience a wealth of opportunities and activities that promote understanding of the content, support their unique needs, and stimulate their interest in learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Create a range of activities and experiences that engage students and facilitate the development of their cognitive, social, and emotional skills
Design lessons, assignments, and assessments that align with the Missouri Learning Standards
Differentiate instruction and independent work to support the needs of each unique student
Use formative and summative data to inform planning and instruction
Establish a safe and nurturing learning environment
Set appropriate expectations and effectively manage the classroom
Clearly communicate individual student progress to families, classroom teachers, and the school principal
Participate in ongoing professional development as well as work individually and / or collaboratively to stay abreast of best practices in elementary education
Complete all job-related responsibilities in a timely and professional manner
Requirements :
Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred)
Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education Preferred skills and characteristics
Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Self-confident and resilient
Consistent and reliable
Data-driven and results-oriented
