What are the responsibilities and job description for the Charter School Board Member position at The Birches Academy of Academics and Art?
The Birches Academy of Academics & Art (a Public Charter School) Board of Trustees in Salem NH, is currently accepting nominations and applications for new Trustee members to serve starting with the 2024-2025 school year! The Board of Trustees is recruiting quality candidates with specific attention given to those nominees/applicants who have a background in education and/or academic affairs.
The Birches Academy Board of Trustees (BOT) has up to 13 trustee members with supervisory control and authority over the operation of the school. The BOT also consists of ex-official (non-voting) members to include the Dean of the School, up to two Trustee Emeritus members, teacher representation along with parent and community members.
Members of the public are always welcome to attend Board of Trustees meetings--which are typically held at the school on the second Tuesday of each month. Attending a BOT meeting is the best way to get a sense of what work the board does in support of the school, and how one can contribute to advancing the vital mission of The Birches Academy of Academics & Art.
