Our client is looking to hire two motivated individuals to join their company as an Engineer, Managed Services. As part of our technical team, you will provide proactive, technical expertise while focusing on customer loyalty and building long-term client relationships. You will work to deliver market-leading managed services using a proactive approach focused on the client’s business and suggesting new and innovative ways to keep them succeeding with our client's solutions. As Engineer, Managed Services you will help set the standard for delivering a great client experience and help build a world-class managed services practice.
Can be remote, Carolinas commutable to Wilmington, NC preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Network Troubleshooting and Maintenance
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolution of network incidents,
- Conduct firmware upgrades across various network devices to maintain security and performance.
- Analyze and resolve network performance issues and implement optimization strategies.
- Client Network Documentation and Recommendations
- Create and maintain up-to-date documentation of client network environments, including topology maps(Visio experience).
- Provide best practice recommendations to improve client network security, performance, and scalability.
- Assist the client in development of long-term network improvement roadmaps for their environment.
- Implementation and Change Management
- Plan, Seek Approval, and execute changes to client networks, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to change management processes.
- Collaborate with internal and client teams to assess and implement network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
- Collaboration and Support
- Serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 support teams, offering guidance and expertise for complex issues.
- Work closely with clients to understand their networking needs and translate them into actionable solutions.
- Provide documentation, mentoring, and training for junior team members as needed.
- Compliance and Security
- Ensure client networks adhere to industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Monitor and respond to network incidents and vulnerabilities, applying fixes and patches promptly.
Location
- This is a hybrid/remote position based out of Wilmington, NC. We are currently seeking candidates in the greater Wilmington area to fill this role.
- There may be scheduled onsite work at a client location(s) up to 2-3 days per week, with other weeks remaining fully remote based on client requirements
Required Experience/Skills
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, and Palo Alto devices.
- Strong understanding of network protocols and concepts, including VLANs, VPNs, NAT, OSPF, BGP, and QoS.
- Hands-on experience with packet analysis tools such as Wireshark or similar.
- Strong organizational skills to manage and document multiple client networks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to travel and work on site at a client location 2-3 days / week.
Education
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
Work Experience
- 5 years providing client-facing Tier 2 / Tier 3 support for network infrastructure technologies (Firewall, Route, Switch, Wireless/WLC).
- 3 years deploying or supporting various other networking technologies (SSL VPN, IPSec, SD-WAN, MPLS, NAT, BGP)
- VoIP/Webex calling experience preferred
- Experience with Remote Monitoring and Management solutions and support ticketing systems
