Job Summary:
We are seeking a Server to join our team. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dining experiences to our guests by delivering impeccable service in an elegant and refined setting. Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables with grace and courtesy.
- Present menus and provide detailed descriptions of dishes, specials, and beverages, offering recommendations as needed.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring clarity and attention to dietary preferences or restrictions.
- Deliver orders promptly and accurately, using proper service techniques and etiquette.
- Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to requests with a sense of urgency and attentiveness.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and sourcing.
- Up-sell menu items, specials, and beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase revenue.
- Ensure proper table setup and presentation, including flatware, glassware, and linens, adhering to established standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally and tactfully, resolving issues to the satisfaction of guests and management.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash and electronic transactions with integrity and confidentiality.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, and cleaning of dining areas, as well as side work.
- Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Uphold The Black Cypress' brand standards and service philosophy, embodying professionalism, hospitality, and excellence in every interaction.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a server in a fine dining or upscale restaurant preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of fine dining service techniques, including wine service and tableside presentations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage guests and build rapport.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a gracious and accommodating demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under pressure.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol, with knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices.
