Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Training to lead our training initiatives and enhance the skills of our workforce. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs that align with our organizational goals. Responsibilities inculde, but are not limited to, recruiting, onboarding, orienting and hands-on training, documentation, staff management, support, development and quality assurance and regulatory compliance. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for education and a strong background in training development, curriculum design, and program management.
Duties
- Develop and implement training strategies that support organizational objectives and employee growth.
- Work collaboratively to develop community culture that acts with compassion and integrity.
- Identify and help resolve instructional issues in the community.
- Administer initial and ongoing training, both proactively and reactively to community staff.
- Support community leaders with on-site and virtual training sessions.
- * Lead the development and execution of the Company’s immersive training and onboarding program for the community.
- Initiate and analyze the collection of data regarding training and onboarding processes to make continuous improvements.
- Be a ‘super user’ for the company’s training platform and electronic health record, particularly during Community transitions.
- Ensure compliance with training requirements and instruction benchmarks.
- Provide support, guidance, and direction to the Company and Community leadership as it pertains to staff training and policy development.
- Assist with the creation of a mentorship program that allows the Community team members to advance their careers internally.
- Implement educational courses and knowledge checks to ensure staff is prepared to conduct their day-to-day responsibilities in accordance with the company’s core values.
- Monitors the implementation of the training program from start to finish and makes adjustments as issues or opportunities are discovered.
- Supports and follows up to identify trends and assists in the development of training opportunities in response to satisfaction surveys and QAs.
- Develops and ensures monthly in-service and monthly staff meetings meet company and state requirements.
- Building strong relationships with colleges through career mapping and internship opportunities to build the industry workforce within the Community.
- Assist with recruitment, selection, training, performance evaluation and counseling of staff.
- Maintain effective communication between corporate staff, management team members, and community employees.
- Create the Clinical Educator schedule in conjunction with the Clinical Care Directors to ensure company resources are being utilized appropriately and based on Community need.
- Develops, trains and delegates any/all community department schedules, as directed by the Executive Director, to ensure adequate staffing to meet needs and budgets.
- Maintains working knowledge of fire and disaster plans and has working knowledge of his/her own responsibilities under emergency conditions.
- Reports to work according to schedule and company policies, including severe weather situations.
- Reports any deficient practice immediately to the community Care Directors and the Executive Director. Provides immediate corrective action strategies that promote regulatory compliance and promotes resident well-being.
- Adheres to the Resident Bill of Rights and promotes dignity and respect among all residents and staff members.
- Ensures that Blake Management policies and procedures are followed. Maintains Federal, State, County and City regulations.
- Works within community director rotation as scheduled and may, at the direction of the ED, participate in the Care Department phone rotation for potential staff call-off coordination.
- Manages effective and efficient tracking systems and documentation for training as required by the State to include follow-up on department managers portion of this process to ensure all training tasks are completed withing required timelines.
