Line Cook

The Blind Goat is the first venture Master Chef Season 3 Winner, Christine Ha, took into the restaurant industry. As a Vietnamese American she wanted to take Vietnamese foods/flavors and use modern techniques to create unique foods that you can’t find anywhere else. With opportunities to learn and grow within the company, we are seeking for strong prep cooks to prepare food to The Blind Goat’s specifications and to keep up with the daily PAR for all items on the given menu. Our prep cooks have the important role of butchering meat, preparing recipes with detail and precision, keeping track of ingredient inventory, and assuring consistent quality control.

Responsibilities

 Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients

 Follow PAR guides to ensure necessary quantities of items are readily available

 Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner in accordance with recipe,

portion control and presentation specifications.

 Labeling prepped items with prepped/discard date

 Comply with sanitation regulations and safety guidelines

 Follow recipes with consistency and precision

 Assist with cleaning, sanitation, organization and maintenance of cook stations, food storage

areas, kitchen fridges and walk-ins adhering to proper food handling and storage guidelines.

 Answer and report to kitchen manager(s)

 Properly and safely operate kitchen equipment

 Perform opening/closing duties and any other task assigned by a manager and/or chef(s)

 Maintain a positive and professional approach with all staff members

Qualifications

 At least 3 or years of experience in a culinary position at a fast pace or Mid-Scale restaurant

establishment

 Willing to work any station

 Possess a valid Texas Food Handlers Certificate

 Knowledge in back-of-house operations

 Standing or walking for extended periods of time

 A Highschool Diploma or equivalent

 Lift and Carry 30 pounds or more

 Able to meet all Scheduling requirements

 Strong attention to detail

 Able to work late afternoon and/or early morning.We are looking forward to hearing from you.
