Summary
As the Community Outreach Manager at The Blind & Visually Impaired Center of Monterey County, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our outreach initiatives and enhancing community engagement. This position is vital to our mission, as it focuses on building relationships and promoting our services to empower individuals facing visual disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase community awareness of BVIC's services.
- Cultivate partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to enhance service delivery.
- Organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and presentations to promote BVIC's mission.
- Conduct research and collect data on community needs related to visual impairments.
- Create and Manage social media platforms and communication strategies to engage the community effectively.
- Collaborate with staff to develop programs that meet the needs of clients and the community.
- Provide public speaking engagements to raise awareness about visual disabilities and BVIC’s services.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in community outreach or program management within a non-profit setting.
- Strong supervisory skills with experience in volunteer management.
- Demonstrated ability in program development tailored to diverse community needs.
- Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to engage various audiences effectively.
- Familiarity with social work principles or experience in social services is a plus.
- Strong administrative skills for managing outreach activities and reporting outcomes.
- Ability to conduct research and analyze data related to community needs.
