What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Housekeeper/Breakfast attendant position at The Block Hotel?
The Block Hotel is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Breakfast Attendant who will also assist with housekeeping and laundry services on busier days. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in food service, food safety, and equipment handling, as well as experience in hotel housekeeping and laundry operations.
The ideal candidate must be efficient in washing, drying, and folding laundry while maintaining high cleanliness standards throughout the hotel.
Breakfast Service Duties:
- Prepare and maintain all aspects of the hotel's complimentary breakfast service.
- Ensure food safety and proper handling practices are followed.
- Monitor and replenish food items, beverages, and supplies as needed.
- Keep an accurate inventory of breakfast supplies and assist with ordering within budget constraints.
- Maintain and clean food service equipment and workstations.
- Communicate with food and equipment vendors.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests, ensuring a positive dining experience.
Cleaning & Housekeeping Duties (As Needed):
- Clean up the breakfast area and lobby, including washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down tables.
- Perform housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, common areas, and designated hotel spaces.
- Change linens, make beds, and restock guest amenities (towels, toiletries, etc.).
- Vacuum, dust, sweep, and mop floors to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Empty trash bins regularly.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies and sanitation guidelines.
Laundry Duties:
- Efficiently wash, dry, and fold hotel linens, towels, and guest room items.
- Monitor laundry equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain an organized and clean laundry area.
- Ensure all linens are properly stored and available for housekeeping needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Prior experience in food service and familiarity with food safety regulations preferred.
- Experience in hotel housekeeping, industrial cleaning, or laundry services is a plus.
- Bilingual candidates are a plus but not required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Must be reliable, dependable, and good communicator.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
