We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate project cost estimates, preparing competitive bids, and ensuring all estimates align with our company's financial objectives. This role demands strong analytical capabilities, proficiency in construction management software, and excellent negotiation skills with clients and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects based on blueprints, specifications, and site assessments.
Utilize industry-standard software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for plan analysis and estimate generation.
Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure estimates align with project budgets and timelines.
Conduct thorough market research to determine optimal pricing for materials, labor, and equipment.
Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.
Monitor project costs throughout the construction lifecycle, implementing cost control measures as necessary.
Support the bidding process by preparing comprehensive bid documents and presenting estimates to clients.
Participate in project management meetings to discuss progress, address challenges, and recommend necessary adjustments.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in construction estimating or related field.
In-depth knowledge of construction management principles and best practices.
Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent tools.
Demonstrated negotiation skills with a track record of securing advantageous contract terms.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make informed decisions.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Familiarity with construction site operations and safety regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
An associate's degree is required; a bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or a related field is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, ProCore, or Primavera P6
Familiarity with commercial construction divisions 2-33
Ability to complete detailed scope of work and bid pricing breakdowns
