BI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design & Development: Develop interactive and visually compelling Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations based on business requirements.
• Data Modeling: Create and optimize data models, DAX calculations, and queries to ensure efficient and reliable reporting.
• Extract, clean, and transform large datasets from diverse sources, ensuring data accuracy and reliability in the ETL pipeline.
• Perform comprehensive data validation and cleansing to maintain high data integrity and consistency in reports, modeling, and dashboards.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize report performance through proper data model design, query optimization, and report configuration.
• Ability to move projects forward independently and bring forward complex issues.
• Research and recommend industry learnings, trends, and new best practices to the tech team.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements, gather feedback, and iteratively enhance reports and dashboards.
• Handle communications tactfully and present data and recommendations in a way that impacts the company's position, prestige, relationship, operations, and end results.
• Documentation & Training: Create documentation for data models, processes, and reports. Conduct training sessions to empower users to leverage Power BI effectively.
• Troubleshooting: Address any issues related to data accuracy, visualizations, and report performance.
  
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant work experience
• Strong and tactful communication skills (written and verbal) to build relationships with internal and external contacts, discuss problems, present data and give recommendations.
• Entrepreneurial Spirit – ability to pivot quickly, a curiosity to learn, and a sense of ownership and confidence in leading clients and cross functional partners
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in BI Softwares like PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, etc…
• Strong project management skillset, preferably with experience in project management software.
• Excellent in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel
• Able to take constructive feedback as a tool for professional growth
• Solid foundation of basic querying in SQL and added plus if Power Query knowledge
• Working knowledge of relational database concepts
• Strong analytical understanding and perspective
• Working knowledge of basic retail concepts and ability to think connectively through relevant datasets
• Proven track record of effectively identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex challenges, demonstrating a systematic and analytical approach to finding innovative solutions.
