What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatics Manager position at The Boar's Head Resort?
Responsible for seasonal aquatics staff recruitment and management, cleaning and setting up pool furniture, ensuring facility and equipment cleanliness and making certain all summer preparations are on schedule and complete. During the summer season the Aquatics Manager will perform Lifeguard and Aquatics Service Agent duties in the event of staff shortages and will further assist the Resort Aquatics Technician with filling and vacuuming pools, addressing chemical issues with the Engineering team and other duties as assigned. They will also plan and lead lifeguard certification classes on weekends occasionally throughout the year. Throughout the offseason (September - April), the Aquatics Manager leads the closure of the family pools, oversees the USA Swimming year-round swim team and instructor staff, and ensures smooth operations of the competition pool for members and guests.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work directly with the Director of Sports Club Operations & Events, meeting weekly to discuss scheduling, pool preparation, training sessions, guard meetings, teambuilding activities and other related issues.
- Work with Director of Sports Club Operations & Events to bring facility up to Summer operating conditions including:
- Cleaning and setting up pool furniture (i.e. umbrellas, chairs and tables, etc.)
- Ensuring clean facilities (i.e. Sports Club guard rooms, Aquatics center check-in office, storage spaces, etc.)
- Ensuring all preparations are on schedule and complete for summer season opening.
- Responsible for hiring and leading a summer seasonal staff of approximately 90 lifeguards, Aquatic Service Agents, Aquatics Supervisors, swim team coaches and private lesson instructors.
- Act as a liaison between Jefferson Swim League and USA Swimming coaching staff and Boar's Head Sports Club.
- Lead in-service training for lifeguard staff.
- Assist the Resort Aquatics Technician with filling and vacuuming pools, addressing chemicals issues with the Engineering team as needed.
- Monitor mechanical and chemical conditions of the pool facilities in absence of Resort Aquatics Technician and inform Engineering team of any maintenance/repair problems.
- Communicate with Operations Manager for all supplies needed.
- Supervise pool operations and staff.
- Act as a leader for the Lifeguard and Aquatics Service Agent staff both by demonstration and instruction.
- Help cover all special events at aquatics center, including swim meets and pool parties.
- Ensure that all daily and rotational tasks are completed during each shift including:
- Ensuring the pool area maintains a high standard of cleanliness, including furniture, towels, leaves and garbage.
- Ensuring that towels are stocked and offered upon guest entry.
- Build cross-departmental relationships with all units, especially engineering and food & beverage.
- Contribute to the overall resort team effort by completing additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- College graduate with Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Industry Experience - Hospitality, aquatics, sports & wellness
- Must have a valid Drivers' License
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary including evenings, weekends and holidays
