What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bellperson/Valet position at The Boar's Head Resort?
Create a favorable and helpful approach to all departing and arriving guests by assisting with their luggage, parking their car, opening doors and providing directions to rooms. Drive guests to their needed destinations on property, as requested.
Essential Job Functions include:
- Maintain working knowledge of all Hotel facilities including restaurants, lounges, entertainment, pools, gift store, and opening/closing times of each location.
- Approach/greet incoming vehicles and open/close vehicle doors (porte cochere); welcome guests as they arrive, prior to Front Desk introduction; valet park vehicles.
- Maintain constant communication with PBX, Front Desk and Guest Services Supervisor.
- Inform Housekeeping and Engineering of all hotel areas, including parking lots that need attention.
- Assist guests with their luggage and escort them to their room/s.
- Neatly keep luggage and golf carts in their designated area at all times. Use extreme care and proper loading habits for protection of guests' property when carts are being used.
- Assure that all luggage stored in bell closet has a claim check.
- Keep lobby, baggage storage room, front outside area, porte cochere, parking lots and Business Center areas clean at all times.
- Pick-up and drop-off guests safely to their destinations, (as listed above) before/after their stay.
- Ensure all passengers wear seat belts and obey applicable traffic laws at all times.
- Greet guests courteously, representing Boars Head Resort with gracious hospitality.
- Keep vehicles clean, smoke-free and full of gas. Report any mechanical problems to Guest Service Supervisor/Front Office Manager.
- Suggest possible upgrades and/or additional services that will increase sales revenue.
- Contribute to overall resort team effort by completing additional duties as assigned.
- Regularly work outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat/cold/wet).
