Position Summary: The Student Services & Persistence Specialist position for UNC Extended Campus supports and assists all admitted students by removing barriers to completing their degree at UNC as well as engaging current and prospective students through newsletters, email communication, text, etc. Student services includes coordinating support for new and continuing students with registration, student accounts, financial aid, deadlines, petitions, billing, etc. This position serves as a Liaison with main campus offices to facilitate processes and problem resolutions and conducts new student orientations and Information sessions. The person in this role will have skills in working with adult learners, excellent oral presentation and written communication skills, the ability to multitask, exercise sound decision making skills, excellent customer service and a student-first attitude. This role embraces and works directly with UNC main campus Student Services to lead UNC Extended Campus students in equity, diversity, and inclusion. Critical to this position is successfully and productively collaborating with the faculty and administrators in UNC colleges and departments to develop high-quality processes and communication for off-campus students.  This position requires the Student Services & Persistence Specialist to aggregate knowledge and expertise in all Extended Campus programs and Course offerings. As a visible and active representative of UNC Extended Campus, this position utilizes excellent judgement to develop credible and meaningful relationships with both students and internal and external academic partners.

Job Duties: Supports students in their path to program completion via student communication; assistance with registration; help navigating central UNC processes including billing and financial aid; and addressing student concerns. Provides faculty support.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, preferred professional Student Services or Academic Advising experience.

Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. The successful candidate must submit original transcripts within one (1) month of hire.

This position is contingent on funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and subject to the policies and regulations of the University of Northern Colorado.

A paper copy can be requested at the UNC Police Department. This report contains crime statistics and policy statements related to safety, conduct processes and Title IX investigations.
