Position Title: Bartender
Location: The Boatyard Bar & Bistro, Ottawa, IL
Job Summary: The Boatyard Bar & Bistro, a vibrant new waterfront restaurant in Ottawa, IL, opening in April 2025, is seeking skilled and charismatic Bartenders to join our team. As a bartender, you will be responsible for crafting and serving exceptional beverages, providing outstanding hospitality, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. This role requires excellent mixology skills, a friendly and engaging personality, and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional hospitality to all guests, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and guest preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including restocking supplies and ingredients.
- Take and process beverage orders from guests and wait staff efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of bar supplies and ingredients.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately.
- Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations and answering questions about the beverage menu.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol regulations.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the bar area.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bartender or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mixology, beverage preparation, and presentation techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be available weekends, holidays, and most weekdays.
- Must have or obtain Bassett certification.
