Job Summary: The Boatyard Bar & Bistro, a vibrant new waterfront restaurant in Ottawa, IL, opening in April 2025, is seeking hardworking and reliable Dishwashers to join our team. Dishwashers play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen, ensuring that all dishware, cookware, and utensils are clean and ready for use. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using industrial dishwashing equipment.
- Ensure that all cleaned items are stored in their proper locations.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area and kitchen.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of kitchen equipment and workstations.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables according to restaurant policies.
- Assist kitchen staff with additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Dishwasher or in a similar role preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Must be available weekends, holidays, and most weekdays.
