Boeing Global Services is currently seeking an Experienced-levelManufacturing Engineer to support the Depot, Repair & Overhaul facility in Mesa, Arizona supporting Apache and Little Bird aircraft.
The successful candidate will analyze product development, complex producibility studies and production/tooling philosophies. Refines, validates, coordinates and implements conceptual designs and manages the program architecture for build. Develops manufacturing work instructions, bills of material and oversees plan optimization. Conducts complex producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements. Resolves complex technical problems. Serves to ensure that contract requirements, specifications, design criteria and schedule performance are integrated and maintained. Design solutions and supports research of new product or business opportunities. Deploys company Safety, Quality and Lean Enterprise analysis methods. Documents and communicates producibility best practices while working in a cross-functional, fast paced manufacturing environment.
Position Responsibilities:
Support the manufacturing, assembly, and test of new dynamic components for US and international customer vertical lift aircraft.
Create manufacturing plans/routings under Deport Repair & Overhaul (DRO) for the purposes of restoration of fielded hardware per approved manuals and repair documentation. This can include dis-assembly, part inspection (repair/re-use/replace), assembly, testing requirements, special process control, tooling procurement Establishes and communicates objectives and goals.
Optimize operational efficiency through business proposals/presentations on continuous process improvements, cost savings, cost reduction initiatives, analysis reports and plans for business efficiencies.
Daily usage of systems such as TeamCenter, SAP, Haystack, Microsoft office products and other industry tools for engineering duties.
Work in a fast-paced environment directly located within proximity of shop floor and daily interaction with personnel working on products.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options(Mesa, Az).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Engineering degree in any of the following majors: Aeronautical; Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
3+ years' experience in aerospace manufacturing operations and/or manufacturing support.
3+ years' experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience servicing aviation fuel to fixed wing or rotary wing aircraft.
3+ years' experience in flight line working on the AH-64D or AH-64E aircraft.
3+ years' experience working with U.S. Army requirements.
3+ years' experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems Common Image.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
