COST ACCOUNTANT

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cost Account will be responsible for executing and overseeing all financial activities at the plant including cost accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting. The Cost Accounting is the key business partner to the Operations Director of the plant in Toledo, Ohio.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Update and maintain accurate product costs in SAP
Prepare monthly journal entries to ensure plant financials are accurate
Collaborate with plant operations team to develop budgets and forecasts
Monitor and analyze performance against budget
Monitor and report on other plant performance metrics
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company accounting policies and procedures.
Support capital projects and track spending/results against business case
Identify and implement process improvements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in accounting field.
5 years of accounting experience, including cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
Previous experience with SAP is a plus but not required
CPA is a plus but not required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Some travel (quarterly) to the manufacturing plant in Toledo, Ohio required.
