How Your Role Fits Into Boldt
Our Communications Specialist plays a support role in developing, implementing and supporting a streamlined organization-wide communications strategy that allows for the successful dissemination of information to flow in multiple organizational directions internally and externally. This role is responsible for working with marketing team members to ensure integrated content delivery, internal customers on message development, and for writing, editing and delivering content through the most effective communication channels. Additional duties include working in tandem with other departments and operating groups to develop content and performing proactive and reactive public relations activities. Success is measured by increased awareness on the part of our employees of important company-wide changes, initiatives and news, and increased brand awareness and engagement of external audiences.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours. The employee occasionally is required to move to access people or workspaces. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. The ability to effectively communicate is required. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds.
The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work inside an office environment. The environment for which this position functions may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.

- Support the strategy for internal communication dissemination to create a culture that empowers the free flow of communication from the top down, bottom up and across all levels.
- Ensure consistent organization-wide messaging reaches the right audiences, fuels employee engagement, influences connectivity and culture and positively impacts employees.
- Collaborate with marketing team and other departments and operating groups in the development of organization-wide content for news stories and announcements in keeping with strategic initiatives and communication and marketing plans and goals.
- Write, edit, and deliver important and relevant messages to various target audiences, ensuring communication cascades and is timely, creative, effective and accurate. This will include building and executing on segmented communications to unique employee audiences.
- Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of Boldt’s policies, initiatives and strategies, and keep up to date with relevant developments.
- Assist with updating internal communication and external social media calendar.
- Write and proofread content for marketing collateral, proposals, presentations, press releases, social media, blog posts, email communications, boilerplates, website and intranet.
- Help Boldt further adopt technologies and tools to elevate our communications such as Microsoft Live for our All-Employee Broadcast and technologies for podcasts, short video production, etc.
- Support internal/external events related to announcements and company communications.
- Adhere to Boldt’s style guide, ensuring consistent, high-quality and error-free communications.
- Measure and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or public relations with a minimum of 1 years of communications/writing experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products, SharePoint.
- Understanding of social media channels and tactics (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X).
- Knowledge of WordPress or similar CMS platform for basic website updates and blog posts.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and video/podcasting software is a plus.
- Prior media experience a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including superior writing, grammar, editing and proofreading skills.
- Basic knowledge of media production, newsletters/internal communication and dissemination techniques and methods.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Demonstrates creativity, curiosity and problem-solving abilities with focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Self-started, results-driven with a high degree of energy, passion, tenacity, attention to detail, with desire to learn and grow.
- Strong observation skills with the ability to read the room.
- Professional and positive demeanor with internal and external customers.
