As a Field Operations Manager for The Boldt Company, you are responsible for business leadership and supervision of field operations for delivery of work across all trades and regions. As an operational leader, this role will be responsible for structuring on-site union trade leadership and staffing to meet project demands, driving operational excellence, and continuous improvement. This role owns all aspects of field delivery and collaborates deeply with cross-functional leadership peers through a matrix organizational structure to optimize installation production, safety and quality while building and maintaining feedback channels to continually refine work acquisition and planning. This role is accountable for operational performance of all field management as well as deploying and driving real-time, clear, and data driven metrics to track performance. This role supports business unit growth by encouraging relationships with internal and external clients and provides market and operational awareness to achieve strategic growth targets and opportunities.

- Supervise daily union trade activities required to deliver our projects across all trade verticals.
- Develop, deploy, and drive our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for all activities needed to acquire, plan, and implement work. Collaborate with leadership peers to identify processes that are both related specifically to field operations as well as those in upstream workflows that influence field installation operations.
- Champion our business development initiatives to identify and capitalize on strategic market opportunities to expand our business path forward.
- Provide both strategic and tactical guidance on project pursuit and execution planning.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with subcontractors and vendors to support the self-perform delivery program.
- Support and implement strategic business plans to promote unit growth and improve operational and financial performance of our field operations.

- Lead collaborative efforts with team members across the company as well as internal and external partners to track and forecast future delivery demands. Use this knowledge to inform our planning to improve consistent, predictable trade staff utilization and regional workforce maintenance and development.
- Partner with cross-function team members to build and deploy our data driven K.P.I. platform to monitor all critical elements of operational performance and report results to leadership regularly.
- Champion a robust safety culture built on the ZeroToday program and challenge every team member to identify and pursue any opportunity to enhance our safety performance and engagement at all levels of the organization.
- Develop a field leadership structure that facilitates growth, and partner with field staff to drive professional development with a focus on identification and elevation of individuals with leadership ability and promotion potential.
- Establish direct communication channels with union trade leadership and organizations in all active and planned regions and act as primary point of contact for all union related matters as they arise.
- Provide leadership and strategic feedback for union workforce engagement and development in active regions as well as areas targeted for future project pursuits or market development.
- Lead collaborative efforts with project management staff in investigating and resolving any issues onsite and engage project staff, subcontractors, vendors, and owners in such issues as appropriate to come to resolution.
- Partner with the operations team in recognizing and developing contractual financial and schedule impacts, as well as change orders.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position objects and operate tools or controls. Employee frequently uses computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to position self to maneuver in confined or awkward spaces. The employee regularly is required to remain in a stationary position and move to access people or machinery or workspaces. Employee is occasionally required to ascend and / or descend a ladder or stairs to reach work areas. The employee must regularly move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly required to travel (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation) and frequently performs work on-site at construction work sites. Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor frequently. The employee is required to be able to effectively communicate while on the job site and throughout the completion of duties.
The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat / cold, wet / humid, and dry / arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to maintain safety and prevent exposure to harmful materials. The environment for which this position functions may be exposed to prolonged loud noises and may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $133,000-180,000 per year. This range represents what The Boldt Company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered will be dependent upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, alignment with market data and internal equity as well as other business and organizational needs. Our expectation is that the incumbent will be traveling nationwide as needed, and based out of our Appleton, WI office. If the incumbent works out of a different location, the anticipated salary range is subject to change.
