What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at The Bonadio Group?
The Bonadio Group is currently seeking a Controller to be responsible for the managing, planning, directing and coordinating of all accounting operational functions. This individual will work with both internal and external customers to manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
Responsibilities
Oversees and manages the accounting team
Own the preparation of internal and external financial reporting
Coordinates audit activities
Ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data by reviewing and approving journal entries, reconciling accounts, reviewing financial statements, and performing variance analysis
Assist with the budgeting process
Review and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures to maintain efficiency and accuracy
Assist in preparing financial forecasts and long-term financial plans for the organization
Assist with the tax and regulatory reporting requirements of entities
Assist with hiring, training, and retaining competent accounting staff
Participate in the due diligence process related to the confidential acquisition of assets and/or new lines of business
Qualifications
Required:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years progressive accounting experience
Advanced Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, and internal controls
Preferred:
A master’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration
CPA or CMA certification
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000 and is commensurate with experience.
Hours of Operation
Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Our summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday
We pride ourselves on our flexibility; however, there may be times when additional hours will be needed
