What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Clearance Representative position at The Bone & Joint Center?
Capital Region Orthopaedics (The Bone and Joint Center) is currently seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented individual for a full-time position of Financial Clearance Representative. Successful candidates will be able to work well in a fast-paced team environment, and must be able to provide the highest level of customer service.
The Financial Clearance Representative will be responsible for a performing key pre-registration functions for appointments in a large medical practice.
Pre-registration functions include a combination of the following:
Performing insurance eligibility verifications prior to the patient’s appointment
Confirming insurance information is entered into our practice management system correctly
Verifying whether the insurance is in network with the practice
Determining if a prior authorization is required
Communication with patients regarding benefits, authorization’s, etc.
Communication with other internal departments
Other duties as assigned
*Prior insurance knowledge including insurance eligibility experience preferred.
