The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
As a Boring Company Technical Sourcer, you will help identify top-tier engineering talent through creative and strategic sourcing techniques. Not only will you help bring on some of the best engineers (top 1%), you will also build market research and top of funnel analysis to help inform the team of where this talent sits and how to engage. In many cases, you are candidates’ first encounter with The Boring Company and it is your job to represent the company with professionalism, pride, and enthusiasm. This position requires a high degree of autonomy and someone who can take initiative, take responsibility, and run with tasks to completion.
Responsibilities
- Proactively build and and manage talent pipelines across all engineering roles to ensure a steady flow of qualified candidates
- Identify and map talent within the industry to align with current and future hiring needs
- Create creative sourcing strategies to identify top engineers
- Come up with out of the box approaches to engaging with the best engineering talent; this may mean setting up community events and other methods of attracting top talent
- Be onsite with the team 5 days/week in our Bastrop Office
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years of researcher or technical sourcer experience; either within tech, executive search, or recruitment agencies
- Experience in the technical recruiting industry
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience recruiting for technical roles, including Software Engineers (SWE), Mechanical Engineers (ME), and Electrical Engineers (EE)
- Experience working in a start-up environment either in-house recruiting or at an executive search firm or agency
- Experience working under OFCCP rules
- Ability to distinguish between the top 50% and the top 5% of talent within their respective fields
- Demonstrated expertise in non-standard recruiting methods: identifying industry experts and finding unique methods to engage with them, creating unique targeted sourcing campaigns, organizing and executing ad hoc networking events, etc
- Comfortable interfacing directly with leadership to understand top of funnel metrics and market research analysis and trends
- Ability to build strong relationships with both hiring teams and candidates
- Ability to multi-task and operate with little direction while still being an active team member
