JOB GOAL:
To supervise and maintain the safety of the children, being alert for the needs of the individual child as well as the group. Follow daily plans as instructed by the classroom teacher.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with planning and implementing activities including outdoor play daily.
- Assist classroom teachers with diapering and toilet training.
- Must work with and under direct supervision of teacher qualified staff at all times.
- Prepare lunch and snacks for the children.
- Be friendly and welcome parents when they visit.
- Be familiar with, and follow, all preschool policies.
- Report to teacher any special needs or problems of individual children, including suspected child abuse.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and training sessions required by EEC.
- Assist Teacher and Director in the organization of parties, programs, and any other special activities throughout the year.
- Keep the classroom, storage rooms, kitchen, and bathroom clean, neat and orderly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 16 years of age or over.
- Must be able to relate well to children
- Must possess initiative, and excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a multicultural environment.
