What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at The Boston Higashi School?
JOB GOAL: The goal of the Lifeguard position is to maintain the safety of the patrons in and around the pool.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the safety of the patrons in and around the pool
- Open the pool each day and close it down each evening, depending on schedule and hours
- Communicate and enforce all pool rules in a personable and professional manner
- Communicate any potentially dangerous elements of the facility to the Pool Director
- Maintain water chemistry after your shift during the hours of (9:00am, 12:00pm, 3:00pm and 6:00pm), record results and report imbalances to the Pool Director
- Perform patron surveillance with a rescue tube from the guard stand
- Remain alert and use all senses while guarding
- Work as a team with other lifeguards
- Handle all incidents in a manner appropriate to your training
- Make sure all emergency equipment is on the pool deck before classes start (backboard, first aid bag, rings, poles etc.) Return to the office at the end of the day.
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Lifeguard Certification
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
