The Boxyard is a dynamic and innovative venue featuring Hatback Bar and Grille, Steelheads Alley and Victory Hall. Located in the heart of Seattle’s Sodo district, across the street from T-Mobile Park, specializing in hosting a wide range of events, from corporate gatherings, weddings, concerts, to community festivals, private parties and game day activation and events. 

Our unique space combines versatility with a vibrant atmosphere, making it a sought-after destination for event planners and clients alike. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences and are looking for a passionate and results-driven Director of Event Sales to join our team.

Overview: The Director of Sales & Events will be responsible for strategizing, leading, and executing our event sales initiatives. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in sales, exceptional customer service, and a deep understanding of the events industry. The ideal candidate will be an influential communicator, capable of building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to drive revenue growth and maximize occupancy.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue goals for Boxyard event spaces.
  • Lead by setting clear objectives, providing coaching, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, event planners, and industry partners to generate new business opportunities.
  • Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups, accurate forecasting, and effective conversion of leads into booked events.
  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of the business booked (e.g., generating proposals, BEO’s, guest correspondence) Triple Seat systems. Maintain current and
  • historical guest detailed event records.
  • Partner with Operations/Culinary team and Ownership teams to ensure menu/programming is established and event ready to meet guest expectations. Coordinate all event related food and beverage requirements with the appropriate department(s). Liquor, bar equipment, specialty orders, florists, lighting, music, etc. and assist with execution when needed. 
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling promotional materials and campaigns to raise awareness of Boxyard's offerings.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Manage budgets, sales forecasts, and reports to track performance against goals and make informed decisions.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction by coordinating with the operations team to deliver flawless events.
  • Represent Boxyard at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the venue and establish key connections.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in sales and events, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in the events industry.
  • Strong understanding of event logistics, planning, and execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Triple Seat event management software, Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with POS and Toast systems a plus.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet client expectations and attend events.
