The Auto Body Technician plays a pivotal role in our company's promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence by meticulously assessing and repairing vehicles to restore them to their pre-accident condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent execution of the WOW plan.
- Plan and prepare repair work estimates for customers, using tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
- Hammmer out dents and dimples, or mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts.
- Repair or replace glass and windshields as needed.
- Replace or repair interior parts.
- Weld and attach parts into place, and prepare vehicles for repainting with factory-specified paint.
- Complete work orders within labor time guidelines, inspecting vehicles after repair.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Techincal school program or 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer is preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with other repairers.
- Thorough understanding of vehicle repair methods and procedures.
- Familiarity with trade-specific tools.
Other Requirements
- Safety precautions must be observed in a noisy environment.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds may be required.
- Visual inspection of vehicle damage in varying weather conditions is essential.
- Bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting may be necessary for repairs and inspections.
