The Auto Body Technician plays a pivotal role in restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition, delivering exceptional customer experiences through meticulous assessment and quality repair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent execution of our WOW plan, focusing on speed, quality, and customer excellence.
- Plan and prepare cost estimates for customers, using various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
- Hammers out dents, dimples, and minor body damage; mixes and applies filler resins when necessary.
- Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Removes damaged sections and replaces them with new or aftermarket parts.
- Repairs or replaces glass, windshields, and interior parts as needed.
- Completes work orders within labor time guidelines and inspects vehicles after repair.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Collaboration skills to work with other repairers within the auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies.
- Proficiency in using tools required for the trade.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work safely in a noisy area with multiple odors present.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds at times.
- Visually inspecting vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting to perform repairs and inspections.
