Job Description
The Auto Body Technician plays a pivotal role in our team, providing meticulous assessment and quality repairs of vehicles. This includes disassembling, repairing, and reassembling vehicles while working collaboratively with team members to achieve repair facility KPIs and upholding brand standards.
- Ensure consistent execution of quality standards.
- Plan and execute repair work, preparing cost estimates for customers.
- Use various tools, such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers, to repair vehicle sections.
- Hammers out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage, mixing and applying filler resins when necessary.
- Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Removes damaged vehicle sections and replaces them with new or aftermarket parts.
- Replaces or repairs glass and windshields as needed.
- Replaces or repairs interior parts as needed.
- Welds and attaches parts into place, preparing vehicles for repaint with factory-specified paint or equivalent.
- Complete work orders within labor time guidelines, inspecting vehicles after repair to ensure accuracy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Required
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer is preferred.
