Primary Function:
The Program Aide plays a vital role in delivering engaging programs and activities for Boys & Girls Club members. This position supports staff in creating a positive, safe, and supportive environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic development of youth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the program space is set up and ready for members before they arrive.
- Plan and deliver effective learning programs, including instructional sessions, clinics, guest speakers, and field trips, that cater to diverse interests.
- Submit a monthly calendar and supply list to the Program Director in advance.
- Reward club members with age-appropriate activities that promote engagement and fun.
- Oversee all aspects of the program, including supplies, record-keeping, inventory management, and documentation.
- Maintain a safe and adequate supply of materials for activities.
- Guarantee that learning activities are conducted in a safe manner at all times.
- Continuously monitor learning activities, identifying blind spots and areas for improvement.
- Recognize and reward members for their achievements.
- Maintain updated bulletin boards throughout the club.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- A minimum of two years of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on developmental needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong group leadership skills, including an understanding of teen issues and group dynamics.
- Demonstrated organizational and project management abilities.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are mandatory.
- Ability to lift heavy items and equipment.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Compensation:
$16.00 per hour.
