The Brand Guild, a full-service communications agency with offices in Washington, D.C., and New York, is looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic bookkeeper to join our team in a flexible, part-time capacity.
Working directly with the EVP of Operations, this individual will manage the agency’s AR/AP needs and help streamline accounting practices. This role is ideal for someone looking for meaningful, part-time work that fits around other commitments. You Will:
- Manage Accounts Payable including all bills, vendor payments, employee expenses and client reimbursable expenses
- Manage Accounts Receivable including sending client invoices for services and reimbursable expenses, reconciling event and media buy budgets, tracking payments received, and conducting A/R follow-ups
- Manage bank and business credit accounts and all employee cards
- Maintain subsidiary accounts (QuickBooks) including verifying, allocating and posting transactions including deposits, checks, and all debit and credit card transactions.
- Maintain general ledger, company P&L and Balance Sheet with support from the EVP of Operations
- Manage W9 retrieval in conjunction with the team and send 1099s to qualifying vendors on an annual basis
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a finance, accounting or bookkeeping role, agency experience a plus
- Bachelor’s/Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures, with proficiency in QuickBooks and other relevant accounting platforms a plus
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and the humility to ask for help when needed
- Self-motivated, proactive team player
