Essential Functions
Athletic Training:
Provide first-aid and treat athletic injuries during the school day and after school activities
Develop therapeutic exercise programs and oversee post-surgical conditioning
Collaborate when needed with nurses on orthopedic and concussion evaluations
Develop appropriate general fitness and training programs and warm-up protocols for students
Ensure compliance with NYS-mandated concussion protocol
Electronic data entry and injury surveillance
Oversee Athletic training budget, supplies, and maintenance of AED kits
Keep record of and ensure all coaches have completed all mandatory training and certifications
Communicate with coaches about athletes promptly
Attend weekly Athletic Department Meetings
Record Management
Assist in maintaining health files for all students by tracking dates of physical exams and follow up with parents/guardians regarding information on student records
Assist in developing a list of students with special medical needs
Assist in completing required records to ensure compliance with applicable NYS laws
Enter student data and document evaluations and treatments in electronic health records program
Athletic Administration
Responsible for roster management, sports registration, and dismissal information
Responsible for responding to general email correspondence regarding roster management and registration
Member of the athletic administrative team (includes AD, Assoc. AD, Assistant AD)
Assist in the collection and distribution of athletic equipment, weight room equipment, and uniforms
Assist in the general maintenance and cleaning of the weight room facility and its equipment
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from an accredited university athletic training program; Master’s degree preferred.
1-3 years of Athletic Training professional experience required, high school setting preferred.
Current Athletic Trainer certification from NYS.
Current and good standing BOC certification.
First Aid/CPR/Emergency Cardiac Care for the Professional Rescuer certification.
Must have strong interpersonal communication and human relations skills.
Proficiency in data entry and computer-related skills required
Strength and conditioning or personal training certification preferred
Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $85,000 based on experience and education.
