The Brewer-Garrett Company has an HR Internship opportunity for a recent graduate or current student expecting to graduate in Spring of 2025. This HR Internship will provide an emerging professional in the HR field with hands-on experience in various areas of HR, including HR service and benefits administration, HRIS, recruiting, onboarding, etc.. We encourage professional growth of all BG employees; full-time employment following the internship period may be considered.
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Intern works closely with HR team members and business managers to provide a team-oriented atmosphere and facilitate positive experiences for candidates and employees through customer service and administrative support with various HR functions and programs. The HR Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through working with the HR Manager, Talent Acquisition Specialist, and Safety Manager.
The HR Intern will assist with various HR responsibilities and may have the opportunity to work independently on select tasks and programs. Responsibilities may include :
- Personnel file maintenance : Electronic files and file maintenance in the HR / Payroll System (HRIS)
- Recruiting : Job posting, resume review, candidate screening, interview scheduling
- New employee onboarding : New hire orientation activities
- Off-boarding departing employees : Termination process activities
- Benefits administration : enrollment and billing reconciliation
- HR Programs : Wellness, training, development
- Other duties / tasks as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires regular travel by car to perform the required functions. Travel by airplane may be occasionally required.
