What are the responsibilities and job description for the Waitstaff position at The Briarwood Community?
We are looking for an energetic, reliable, and personable individual to work as a Server at a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Worcester. This position is part time, approximately 20 hours per week and is the perfect job for students!
Wait staff are responsible for the tasks such as greeting customers, taking orders, recommending dishes based on guests' tastes and preferences, communicating with members of the kitchen about orders, delivering food to the tables, as well as ensuring an outstanding guest experience at all times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Introduce our menus and describe different dishes and drinks
2. Take orders
3. Deliver orders to the table in a timely manner
4. Adhere to food, sanitary and safety standards
5. Inspect the quality and looks of the dishes, making sure they uphold standards
6. Identify and resolve any special requirements, wants and needs of customers
7. Handle complaints
8. Collaborate closely with other staff members

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to regularly lift up to 20 pounds, to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
- Able to spend long periods of time on feet.
- Able to lift trays of food, racks of cups or other objects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- You must be at least 16 years of age. If younger than 18, you must obtain a work permit.
- You must be vaccinated for Covid (at least one vaccination)
