As a key member of The Brickle Group Production team, the Machine Operator Assistant will be responsible for the movement of material to and from the machine, ensuring it is supplied with the correct raw material for processing, removing finished products, and delivering them to the shipping department. You will also assist Machine Operators with loading fiber, removing finished product, and setting up/changeovers, including cleaning equipment.
Shifts Available:
- 1st Shift: 6 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday to Thursday)
- 2nd Shift: 4 PM to 2:30 AM (Monday to Thursday)
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety rules, including Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hearing, eye protection, and safety shoes.
- Locate and supply materials to machine operators.
- Assist with set-up and change-over, including cleaning equipment.
- Weigh, strap, bag, and label finished goods.
- Assist in performing in-process quality inspections.
- Inform supervisor of any material needs as they arise.
- Maintain in-process inventory by labeling WIP correctly in POUT or job packets, verifying material lot and quantity.
- Prepare finished product for shipment by moving to staging area and recording information into POUT.
- Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, A-frame jacks, etc.
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good communication skills to interact with production team members.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Forklift / Clamp Truck certified.
- Basic computer skills.
Education & Experience:
- Preferred: 6 months of manufacturing experience.
- Preferred: Experience running a forklift and forklift certification.
