Worship Leader

The Bridge Church of Gilbert, AZ is looking for its next part-time Pastor or Director of Worship.

Who are we? We are a community that is passionate about following Jesus by adopting his life habits of mission and renewal. Love moves us in mission towards others so they might experience his life. Love matures us through his habits of renewal so we become more like him. Each Sunday we gather in worship to reorient ourselves back to his way of life through scripture, song, communion, and prayer.

Who are we looking for? - The Pastor/Director is one who follows Jesus, is gifted and called to church ministry, and has a deep love for people. In the power of the Spirit, their passion is to lead a multi-generational congregation to a greater vision of the triune God, inspire an authentic encounter with hislove, and encourage worshipers to join in his mission in the world.

Note: The title Pastor or Director will be used in light of the one’s credentials and experience, not based on the gender of the person who will be hired. It is our desire to see the successful candidate become ordained by our congregation, if they are not already ordained.

Reports To: Lead Pastor

Category of Employment: Pastor/Director, Part-Time

Hours: 6 - 8 hours a week, including Sunday mornings and potentially Thursday nights (if there is rehearsal). Hours may fluctuate based on practice needs of the worship leader, relational needs of their ministry team members and on holiday weeks when there is an extra worship gathering (e.g. Christmas Eve week).

Responsibilities Include:

• Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to design worship gatherings (usually through monthly meetings)

• Lead in the rehearsal of musicians and the implementation of worship at gatherings on Sunday morning (call time 8am on Sundays. Worship gathering from 10 – 11:15/11:30am). Rehearsal time is available on Thursdays at 7pm if the worship leader and musicians desire an additional day besides Sunday morning to prepare.

• Help coordinate and execute special worship gatherings (such as Christmas Eve and Good Friday).

• Build Worship Teams, Tech Teams, and other related worship ministry teams.

• Maintain a posture of learning. Connect with mentors, the wider church in Phoenix as well as the Evangelical Covenant Church, our tribe. For more info on the ECC see covchurch.org.

• Work to advance musical and vocal skills through practice, mentoring and coaching.

• In collaboration with the Lead Pastor, choose new songs to incorporate into worship gatherings.

• Create and implement the schedule for the Worship Team and Tech Team members.

• Maintain open lines of communication with the Lead Pastor and Leadership Team regarding ministry-related issues. Examples include: areas of conflict, pastoral care needs of team members and team morale.

• Manage finances allocated for ministry with wisdom, discretion, and integrity.

Other Expectations:

• Engage in church discipleship and missional rhythms.

• Maintain caring relationships with non-Christians with the intention of sharing Christ with them.

• Attend to spiritual, emotional, physical, and familial health, including maintaining habits of rest.

• Will become a member of The Bridge and will live in accordance with the mutual commitments of membership.

Compensation: $275 a week
