Job Summary:
The CRSS provides peer support services, client advocacy, and information from pre-intake to post-discharge while modeling recovery and wellness. Certification through the Alabama Department of Mental Health as a Certified Peer Support Specialist is required.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Valid Alabama driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Basic computer skills (email, document editing).
- Willingness to self-disclose personal recovery and demonstrate understanding of the recovery process.
- Ability to operate an 8-12 passenger van safely.
- Meet certification conduct requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Support clients in setting and achieving recovery goals.
- Document treatment plans and provide case management services.
- Utilize personal recovery experience in peer support.
- Maintain accurate records in the electronic health system.
- Collaborate with treatment teams and external agencies.
- Ensure compliance with billing and documentation standards.
- Perform general office tasks and occasional client supervision.
- Participate in staff training, meetings, and committees.
