Kitchen/Housekeeping Aide
- Full Time/Non-Exempt
- Schedule: Must be able to work flexible schedule; Tuesday thru Saturday 9:30AM to 6:30PM, subject to change to meet program needs.
- $33,696 annually
The Bridge is seeking a Kitchen/Housekeeping Aide who provides supportive services to the food service program and is responsible for ensuring the habitability and cleanliness of communal areas at a 100-bed shelter for survivors of domestic/sexual violence and homelessness.
- Assist Food Services Manager and cook(s) in preparing/serving daily meals and snacks
- Monitor and assist staff with meal preparation and serving of food to ensure food handling safety rules are enforced.
- Ensure food storage and kitchen areas are kept clean and orderly.
- Assure proper temperatures and methods of food storage to include recording daily freezer/cooler temperatures.
- Clean dining room bathrooms; to include the following: Empty trash, sweep/mop floor, clean/sanitize toilets, sinks, wall tiles, clean doors, door handles, etc. Keep soap and toilet paper dispensers stocked.
- Kitchen clean up after lunch and dinner; to include the following: Wash dishes using commercial dishwasher and three sink method; clean pots/pans and utensils; wipe down and sanitize prep tables and other work stations. Empty trash in dumpster and sweep and mop kitchen floor;
- Dining room clean up after lunch and dinner to include, empty trash cans into dumpster, wipe down serving hatch, serving tables. Clean equipment such as, ice/water dispensing machine, coffee pots, toasters, microwave oven. Sweep, dry mop/spot clean/ wet mop dining room floor. Wipe down walls, baseboards, windows behind trash cans, clean glass door panels in dining room/hallway doors.
- Conduct all work in accordance with The Bridge’s service philosophies and mission; adhering to policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma/GED required, with a minimum of one year of experience housekeeping in a residential facility preferred.
- Food Handler's Certificate required.
- Ability to use cleaning products, such as bleach, bathroom sanitizers, floor cleaning products, etc.
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, reach, push/pull and stand for extended periods of time while performing routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, etc.
Other Requirements
- Must pass criminal background investigation check
- Must pass drug screen
- Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
- Must provide and maintain clean driving record and annually update driving record
- Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be able to lift/carry (40) lbs, and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting.
