Description
We are looking to hire a responsible and energetic person to ensure the safety of members and guests in and around the swimming pools. The lifeguard will enforce safety rules with the members and guests and warn them about unsafe situations. The Lifeguard will have some additional duties that include swimming pool areas, locker rooms, and restrooms. To ensure success you need to create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with The Bridgewater Club policies and procedures. Requirements:Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Available to work flexible evening weekday hours.
- Have reliable transportation
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise pool and pool area to ensure member and guest safety.
- Respond to and care for emergencies at The Bridgewater Club.
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Secure all facilities upon closing and other periods where there will be no supervision by lifeguards.
- Administer age-appropriate discipline as needed with good judgement and respect of patrons.
- Ensure that all equipment malfunctions are reported in a timely manner.
- Have the ability to remain calm, personable, and professional while multitasking.
- Respond to questions and needs of guests and management.
- Effectively work within a group setting to ensure safety of patrons.
- Stay current with and effectively enact facility policies and procedures.
- Attend all training classes including (but not limited to): in-service training and organizational meetings.
- Maintain all safety training certifications.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:
- Lifeguard experience required
Qualifications/Certifications:
- Possess certification in Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Training including First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

- Required to stay in a level of physical conditioning sufficient to complete monthly in-service skills and training goals as defined by management.
- Specific vision abilities required by the lifeguard are close vision, distance vision, depth perception and focusing ability.
- Able to withstand warm indoor pool air temperatures, averaging 85-87 degrees for 4 hours per shift.
