Summary: The Summer Swim Team Coach will be helping the Head and Assistant Head Coach in creating and nurturing a meaningful swim team experience. Our goal is to teach teamwork, tolerance, respect, and responsibility. They must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, passionate about working with children, and be professional.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Ability to coach proper swimming techniques in a safe, positive, and healthy manner to various levels and age groups.
- Observe, assess, and evaluate swimmers daily, to ensure swimmers demonstrate progress each season.
- Clear understanding of technical aspects of swimming: stroke technique; diving; turns; etc.
- Available for all summer swim team practices and meets.
- Assist Head Coaches in set-up, and clean-up before and after practices and swim meets.
- Create a fun, positive, and supportive environment for swim team participants, parents, and staff.
- Assist in preparing swimmers and parents for the summer conference swim meet.
- Assist Head Coaches with the end of season summer swim team banquet.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications/Certifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must have competitive swimming experience, coaching or teaching experience preferred.
- Must be able to communicate and interact with participants, members, guests, co-workers and management in a professional and positive manner.
- Must have experience working with children and creating a positive environment.
- Must be personable, upbeat, enthusiastic, fun, and good with people of all ages.
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be customer service oriented.
- Must be punctual.
- Must be reliable and a team player.
- First Aid and CPR/AED certification (Child, Infant and Adult) preferred but not required.
- May 19 – May 23: Indoors | Monday, Wednesday, & Friday | 5:15-8:00pm
- May 28 - July 7: Outdoors | Monday, Wednesday, & Friday | 8:00-10:30am
- Some Tuesday and Thursday evening meets 4:00 - 8:00pm

- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Spend up to 4-6 hours outside in direct sunlight, humidity and heat.
- Occasionally reach, kneel, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
